Monday June 3, 2019 – Self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) general, Miguna Miguna, has revealed the amount of money that Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, spent to have a case challenging his victory in 2017 withdrawn.
In 2018, ODM’s Japheth Muroko went to court challenging Sonko’s victory on grounds that the election was not conducted in a credible manner.
Muroko, who had blessings from ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga, claimed that there was massive non-compliance with the Constitution and Election Laws.
However, the case never saw the light of day after Raila Odinga demanded a huge bribe from Sonko to withdraw the petition.
According to Miguna Miguna, Raila Odinga demanded Sh 36 million from Sonko in cash to have the case withdrawn.
“In the audiotape @MikeSonko has leaked, Esther Passaris confirms that @RailaOdinga receives and received millions of bribes and payouts from MPs and @JubileePartyK operatives and that he was paid Shs. 36,000,000 by @MikeSonko to have the petition against @MikeSonko withdrawn,” Miguna wrote on his social media page.
ODM party is yet to respond to Miguna Miguna’s shocking claim.
